Popular Baseball Cards

he first baseball cards were not really intended as trading cards, having their own market value, but instead as a way for companies to advertise and promote their business. The first baseball cards were said to be produced by Peck and Snyder, who sold baseball equipment, as a way for them to advertise their goods. Then other companies followed, even those whose products were not remotely related to baseball. As more and more people got hooked with the hobby of collecting and trading baseball cards, companies rose to specialise in the manufacturing of these cards and incorporating unique designs, making the cards more valuable and expensive.

A typical baseball card in the past featured an image of a player, team or baseball-related event on one side, and business advertising information on the other. Today, the cards still retain an image on one side and statistical and/or biographical information on the other.
