Baseball Animé and Manga
Baseball is not only a popular sport in the West. The East, Japan in particular, has also been an avid fan of the game ever since the sport was introduced to its shores. It did not also take much time for baseball to conquer other aspects of their culture, like in films or their cartoon animation or comics. The sport has been depicted in many of its comics and animation series, like “3rd Base 4th,” a story comic book about a boy who was lousy at baseball till he came upon a magical baseball bat, which improved his game.

An animé series that is fun to watch is “H2,” which is a story about two wrongly diagnosed team-mates, who were stars of their team. Both were told that they could not play baseball again after suffering an injury, so they quit the team and moved to different schools, but only to find out later that the doctor was a quack. They then returned to playing their favourite sport and ended up as rivals. These are but a few of the baseball inspired animé out there, giving you an idea of how baseball has been ingrained into their culture.
